The popular messenger WhatsApp is constantly being improved. A new feature for redirects is currently being worked on.
- Captions will be forwarded with the image soon if requested.
- This also applies to labels that you can attach to other files such as documents.
- You can expect the feature in later beta versions.
WhatsApp is also used by many to share documents or pictures. It is possible to add a caption. You can now label other files in a beta version as well. This makes it easier to find these files later using the search function in the chat itself. However, these labels are still lost if you forward the image or document in question from a chat to another contact in the app. This could change soon.
Should the feature find its way into future versions, you will, according to the fan blog WABInfo not only caption images, videos, GIFs and documents, but also share them with others with that caption. If you don’t want it, you can remove it beforehand.
It’s unclear when the new feature will be available to beta testers or eventually to everyone.
