Ratchet and Clank Rift is the next big PlayStation game coming to PC, and technically it’s bound to look very heavy. Even if this version makes PlayStation lie in passing.
In June 2021 we were able to make a certain discovery with great fanfare Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart That was a nice visual slap in the face for PlayStation 5 players. Back then, Sony and the game’s creative director Marcus Smith, who works at Insomniac Games, didn’t hesitate to make bombastic statements to praise the merits of the game and the PS5. We especially remember this shocking sentence, which said:
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a game that uses dimensions and dimensional rifts that would not have been possible without the blisteringly fast SSD of the PlayStation 5.
But today we can discover the necessary configurations to run the game on PC. And it’s clear… that the SSD isn’t affected at all by the commitments. fun, right?
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, PC configurations
Here is the specification table. As for Marvel’s Spider-Man, the studio does not pretend to help the player prepare. We discover the minimum, the recommended, the high setting, amazin ray tracing and even ultimate ray tracing. The SSD is entirely absent from the minimum setting, as the PS5 didn’t necessarily need its next-gen storage to run the game.
While we wait for the launch on July 26th, the development studio makes us big promises regarding the technologies integrated in its port. In fact, we already know that we can benefit from Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2 and Intel XeSS, as well as Insomniac Games’ in-house IGTI time-injection technology, used in the console version. Of course, to be able to enjoy the game in the best conditions you need something very heavy, namely an RTX 4080 and an Intel i7 12700K processor and 32 GB of RAM. It was to be expected.
What is Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart?
For PC gamers who have never touched this title, this is a third-person shooter platform video game. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart takes place in a futuristic science fiction universe. As in the previous episodes of the series, Ratchet and Clank are the protagonists. You travel from planet to planet aboard a spaceship. The setting for this work is the galaxy of Polaris, which has been the setting for a number of previous episodes, and the title also makes a lot of mention of a parallel dimension in the sense of a multiverse.
