Anyone who grew up in the 90s probably knows the question And… which Hogwarts house would you belong in?
This choice is of paramount importance to many Potter fans. At the beginning of a wizard’s or witch’s career, each student of magic is divided into one of the four houses: There are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. All four are associated with different characteristics such as courage, friendship, ambition and cunning.
Each house has its own common room with dormitories, its own school uniform with the crest of the house, and a common points account. Good and diligent students receive plus points, bad students are deducted points. At the end, all points of the house are added up and compared with the other houses. The winner gets the house cup. A prestigious trophy.
Which house do you belong to?
Now that you have a basic understanding of the role houses play in Hogwarts, it’s time to decide which house suits you best ahead of the release of Hogwarts Legacy on February 10th, 2022. We have set up a small quiz with 10 questions for you:
Let us know in the comments which house you were sorted into by our magical quiz and how satisfied you are with the result. Who knows, maybe old hat at Hogwarts will soon be obsolete?
Speaking of sorting: Our Harry Potter experts Natalie and Eleen arrange their game impressions from the first preview version in the detailed reference article and together with Micha in the podcast and talk about the worries that remain after the reference session:

If you want to do more tests or even take your house choice directly into the game, you have to create two accounts with WB Games and the Harry Potter fan club and be sorted into a house there again via test. Our guide to pre-house selection explains exactly how this works.
If you don’t feel like creating multiple accounts, simply take the GameStar quiz and then decide which house you should play in-game. That should be loud official developer FAQ namely also work.
JK Rowling’s transphobia
The success of Hogwarts Legacy indirectly benefits Harry Potter author JK Rowling, who participates through existing publishing rights and the associated sale of the books. Rowling continues to be active in anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric and actively supports anti-trans policies in the UK. This article explains Rowling’s statements and summarizes reactions from those affected. You can find an overview of the controversies surrounding Hogwarts Legacy in our summary. You can find more information about the topic among other things here
In his column, editor-in-chief Heiko Klinge explains how GameStar deals with controversial games and why we continue to report on Hogwarts Legacy:

Either way, we are very excited to find out which house you have been sorted into by our quiz and whether the shoe or rather the student robe also suits your preference. Feel free to write us in the comments whether you already determined your Hogwarts house back then, or whether our quiz was the first attempt at assignment. We would be happy to receive your comments.
