Gaming News While some denounce a scam, the developers of Palworld reassure Internet users
After the episode “The Day Before,” players are on guard. So when a game like Palworld (“Pokémon with Weapons”) has everything that could be a joke, players are obviously wary. But the developers remain stubborn and sign: Their game is not a scam!
Palworld, too good to be true?
Sometimes there are games that we absolutely did not expect. And this is particularly the case with Palworld. At the time of its announcement in 2021, the Pocketpair title managed to surprise players with its concept as familiar as it was original: the Famous “Pokémon with weapons”
On paper, the project is pretty crazy and tempting. We recently had a somewhat similar case with a game that came out of nowhere, seemed particularly ambitious and contained tempting promises: The Day Before. If you haven’t been to a cave in the last few months, you know that this story didn’t end well. “The Day Before” will be remembered as the worst start of 2023 and is considered by many to be a complete fraud. Need a recap of The Day Before’s entire journey? You can find our special article here. Apparently, players are now more suspicious after such an episode. And some have expressed this distrust of Palworld, which on paper can seem like a big joke. But the developers deny it!
Pokemon with weapons are not a scam
On the game’s Steam page we actually find an FAQ about the game’s Early Access, which starts today. There we find information about upcoming features (crossplay, cross save, mod, etc.), but also a rather strange detail that shows that The Day Before has left its mark. On the question “Is this game a scam?”the developers of Pocketpair replied: “This is not a scam and the game will actually be released on January 19th. Palworld is a classic game on Steam: you buy it once and own it forever. Whether we can consider releasing expansions after the game’s final release is a discussion we will all have together as a community when the time comes.”
If you still have doubts, know that we have played the game and that for the moment it offers a solid experience with important content. At the start of Early Access, the Pocketpair developers offer us something more than honest, far from the fraud feared by some. At IGN, we’re currently giving it a non-definitive rating of 8 out of 10, which is saying something. And if you want to make sure for yourself, seePlease note that the game is available starting today at no additional cost to Xbox Game Pass subscribers (console and PC). Otherwise, you’ll have to pay $28.99 on Steam to see this with your own eyes.
