Beyond the Spider-Verse It’s a bit of a limbo right now, but luckily for you, a new Spider-Man short has just been released that will hopefully keep you entertained for a while longer.

Originally, Spider-Man Beyond: Into the Spider-Verse was scheduled to launch this week, as Sony had announced a March 29, 2024 release date last year. Now delayed indefinitely due to the two strikes that took place last year, it honestly always sounded like an optimistic date, especially given the accusations against its predecessor, Spider-Verse. There’s no word yet on when Spider-Man Beyond: Into the Spider-Verse will be released, but Sony Animation has released a short film about Miles Morales addressing his own mental health.

The short film called Spider-Man: Spider-Man Stories is on it, though I’m going to issue a content warning to those with arachnophobia, as there is one scene that features quite a few spiders. Uncomfortable way. Still, it’s a nice little short that explores how the pressure to be a superhero affects teenagers.

“In this genre-bending thriller, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Stories, Miles Morales struggles to balance his responsibilities as a teen, friend, and student while playing Brooklyn’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, ” reads the video’s description. “After a particularly challenging day under these pressures, Miles experiences a panic attack that forces him to confront manifestations of his anxiety and learn that asking for help is just as brave as protecting his city from evil.”

Sony has also partnered with the Kevin Love Foundation, an organization that “helps destigmatize mental health challenges and ensure those struggling have the tools they need to thrive.” There is a fundraising link on the short’s YouTube page where you can also donate.
