if only to see Barbie If seeing the movie in the cinema wasn’t enough for you, now you can see it in concert, with an orchestra playing – so who cares about the so-called Oscar snub?
Last week, the Hollywood Bowl in California announced it would host a screening of last year’s Barbie movie, with a live orchestra playing along with the movie. “Dance the night away with the Barbie Land Sinfonietta as ‘Barbie: The Movie: In Concert’ comes to the Hollywood Bowl,” a description on the Hollywood Bowl website reads. “This record-breaking feature film will be produced by Live accompaniment from an all-female, predominantly women-of-color orchestra known for their musical skill and style. Barbie Country Sinfonietta is conducted by Tony Award winner Macy Schmidt. Barbie fans of all ages are invited to A one-of-a-kind immersive experience celebrating the music of film!”

The concert will take place this summer on July 27th, although there are over $400 of tickets left, so good luck with that. Also, unfortunately for the rest of America, and the rest of the world, this appears to be the only time the Barbie movie is shown in concert, so unfortunately for any fans who are able to see the movie, this is Bad luck. Can’t do it.

Last month, the 2023 Oscar nominations were finally released, and Barbie itself received multiple nominations, including Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Costume Design, Best Art Direction, and Best Picture. Ken, I mean, Ryan Gosling was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor, along with America Ferrera for Best Supporting Actress, although to the surprise of some, Barbie herself was Gert Robbie was not nominated for Best Actress, and Greta Gerwig was not nominated for Best Director. Robbie later made comments that seemed to suggest she wasn’t all that fussy, which was the right attitude to take over a not-so-serious awards show.
