Lo and behold, the Epic Games Store has a free game ready for all bargain hunters this week. Especially co-op fans with a soft spot for trains should… come into their own.
What is the game actually about?
- Unrailed challenges you and your friends to complete unfinished tracks as the train that runs on them draws closer and closer. So you have to hurry when mining the resources and installing the rails, otherwise the train will derail.
As always, the free promotion lasts exactly seven days, so you have until August 11 at 4:59 p.m
That’s what you can expect from Unrailed

Unrailed! in the Teaser Trailer – Procedural Train Tracks & Co-op Mayhem
Everything is easier together: Of course, building a railway system is also part of it! With up to four players you tinker around on the tracks in Unrailed so that the moving train doesn’t cause an accident. The materials for this are not yet ready, but have to be removed from the game world. For this you need tools that are only available once each – so you have to agree well who will do which tasks.
But if you prefer to look for competitive challenges, you can also build in 2vs2 mode. The game also offers a lot of variety otherwise, since the procedurally generated environments constantly present you with new challenges. You can also upgrade your engine to kill some time or produce goods faster.
It doesn’t matter whether you prefer to play with your friends online or in couch co-op. With the latter, you can lay the rails together with a shared keyboard or with the controller without any problems.

Who is Unrailed suitable for?
If you like co-op games Overcooked and other coordination games, you and your friends have chaos on their faces and you can handle stress, then you should definitely give Unrailed a try. The pixel game will probably not captivate you days in a row in front of the screen, but the title is definitely worth it for fun game nights every now and then. That’s what 90 percent of Steam reviews say.
