news culture “Who is the impostor?” : Squeezie looks back on the future of his hit format and YouTube channel!
Squeezie, number one on YouTube AND the French Twitch game, had a busy 2022. On Google pl atform Who is the scammer? Cardboard. The format has a bright future ahead of it.
If you were told “which YouTube video was the most viewed in France in 2022” (not to mention movies, music, content for children, etc.), what would you answer? Seven days to survive alone on a desert island d’Inox day ? We call Random People feat. Squeezie hits back by McFly | Carlito? Amixem or Mastu maybe? Well no. As we told you last December, it is Squeezie who is in first place in this ranking thanks to Episode 1 of Who is the scammer?, published in June 2022 (16 million views so far). In addition, two other editions took fourth and fifth place in the same category. In short, in a few months it has become Lucas Hauchard’s new flagship format. The concept ? Easy as pie: Participants must interview three people who have something in common (profession, passion) except there is a liar. Of course, Squeezie has fun adding rules or involving family members of guests.
A format with a future
The content creator is having a blast, to say the least, as he recounted in a recent live (reported by interlude
“(After the 2023 school year starts) We’ll see if we kill the format (Who is the scammer, ed.), if we revisit it or if we keep it the way it is, I know Not.” – Squeezie, in a Live (via Interlude)
More accessible, more successful?
Another interesting point: with Who is the scammer?, Squeezie explains that it’s easier for him to invite non-internet personalities (like Jonathan Cohen, in episode 01). What do we think will attract a new audience to the YouTube channel and boost audiences? Yes, last year on Twitch it wasn’t the “specialized” events (e.g. ZEvent) that got the biggest numbers, but rather the larger meetings (GP Explorer, also organized by Squeezie, and the Eleven All Stars). We therefore expect further imposters in 2023.
