Who says cannibalism and Valentine’s Day can’t mix? “Yellowjackets” Season 3 Has a Release Date

Calling all cannibal lovers, Yellow shirt army Season 3 already has a release date, and the timing is perfect, if a little twisty.

Yellowjacket fans have been eager for a third season of the hit TV show since the second season ended in early 2023, but last year’s writers and cast strike (understandably) delayed that a bit. There was some casting news earlier this year that Community fans might be very happy about, but Showtime has finally confirmed the release date for season three: February 14 next year. Yes, it was Valentine’s Day, which did tickle me a little considering the cannibalism going on in the Yellowjackets, but who said eating your best friend couldn’t be romantic? Not me, that’s for sure!

For those who have never heard of the Yellow Jackets before, the official plot synopsis explains that it tells the “saga of a group of talented high school female soccer players who find themselves on a plane deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complex but thriving team into a savage horde, while also following their attempts to piece their lives together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never real. In the past, everything began far from ending in the wilderness.”

A trailer for the new season can be seen above, but it doesn’t show much. In addition to Joel McHale joining the cast, Hilary Swank joins all the main cast members from the first two seasons. Putting their hands together, neither of them gritted their teeth. The series will be released on the aforementioned February 14th and will be broadcast on Paramount+ as Showtime plans, followed by a linear premiere on February 16th – international viewers will also be able to watch the series on Paramount+.
