Why the aliens are suddenly our friends

aliens, Friends, suddenly

Usually we fight the aliens in the XCOM games instead of with them. The latest offshoot of the series, XCOM: Chimera Squad, is turning its back on this concept. In the new tactical sci-fi shooter, we create a group of both humans and aliens. How that comes is explained by a new trailer that introduces one of the former adversaries: Verge.

Verge was one of the first invaders on earth and subjugated humanity with its telepathic abilities. But that had the side effect that human empathy also rubbed off on him. In a post-XCOM 2 world, where humans and aliens are desperately trying to maintain an acceptable coexistence, Verge is committed to peace and order and has joined XCOM.

More soldiers on our team

Of course, the purified alien is not the only agent you can play in XCOM: Chimera Squad. At the same time, the official YouTube channel of the XCOM games also released trailers for three other playable characters: the precision shooter Blueblood, the expert Godmother and the Medic-Soldatin Terminal are also there. In the short clips you can find out their background stories and motivations.

These are just a few of the eleven agents with whom you have to prove your tactical skills in XCOM: Chimera Squad and save City 31 from the downfall. The latest part of the time-honored alien shootout appears on April 24th for the PC. Whoever strikes on the release day will get the game for 10 euros, later the game will cost 20 euros.
