Why we give games a second chance now more than ever

Chance, Games, give

Games are hardly like toothpaste these days. Or chairs, table lamps, duvet covers. They are often no longer a product that you buy once and then it remains on the shelf forever. Many games no longer appear in such a way that you can put them on the shelf. And they change – through remasters, remakes, mods, patches, trends. Prices are falling, DLCs appear, GOTY editions are being forged.

Definitive editions, director’s cuts, GOTYs – we get incentive after incentive to give old hams a second chance. But how does that change our habits? When should you ideally pick up a game today? And what happens to art when it is constantly changing? As you can see, the GameStar podcast is getting pensive today.

No wonder, because we have great thinkers around us. Heiko Klinge brings years of experience as editor-in-chief of Making Games, GamePro and GameStar to the table, Fabiano Uslenghi as an RPG and strategy expert knows many classics like the back of his hand – and Dimi ensures that everyone in the podcast has enough to drink and eat.
