It all started a few days ago with leaks of certain content related to old versions of Pokemon they never saw the light. However, it seems that this was only the beginning.
We have been able to see it through this post in Resetera Created by user Atheerios. Apart from all the content of Pokemon, source code, design documents and pretty much everything to do with Wii. That is, confidential information regarding the creation of the console, how it works, and much more.
The thing is not there. Also included is Gamecube source code and even the iQue Player, a console that Nintendo launched exclusively in China back in 2003. There is also no lack of N64 material, which has taken shape through internal demos used by the company itself to test the capabilities of the machine.
The YouTube channel of the user Sebastian has been dedicated to uploading all that he finds, this being Mirror House the most notorious so far.
Where do these leaks come from? Most fingers point to hacking of company servers Broadon, who worked with Nintendo during the Wii era. Other users claim that the Wack0 hacker was responsible. So far, none of these origins has been confirmed.
All the leaked information is on the internet and can be seen, although when it comes to confidential documents that have been illegally obtained, we will not link them in this news. Of course, it should be noted that none of the leaks have anything to do with current hardware or software. In other words, nothing related to Nintendo Switch or its games.
There also doesn't seem to be anything about important sagas like Zelda, Mario or Mother on the N64 demos. In that section, the only thing for now is a collection of small anecdotal oddities, although as Sebastian himself explains in this other video, the leak is still in progress. It is likely that even more content will be revealed in the coming days.
Be that as it may, we find ourselves before one of the biggest leaks Nintendo has ever experienced regarding internal material. It is not a great inconvenience to the current plans of the company, since as we say, it is all old content. However, documents such as the Wii source code or Gamecube could greatly help emulator developers if they decide to use them. It remains to be seen how Nintendo responds to all this.
