In previous episodes of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt… I met Yennefer at the Islas Skellige to tell us everything we had found out about Ciri and to investigate a huge explosion of magic that took place in a forest on the islands. my partner and ermine, the Jarl’s shaman, are led to kill. One wants to investigate at all costs and the other worries about the consequences.
Yennefer wants to use the mask we stole from Ermine to see the magical remains at the site of the explosion, but the shaman fears that using it could cause a great cataclysm. I’m not particularly superstitious, but I respect people’s beliefs… except in this case. We ignore and we use the mask. We find out that Ciri is responsible for the explosion and that she and her partner narrowly escaped the Wild Hunt.
I already have the information I wanted, so I let Yennefer and Ermiño stare at each other while they argue. I need to think about what I’ve seen. I decide take a walk
The Cave of Dreams, because calling it the cave of mushrooms and psychedelia is not so epic
As I approach the group of men, they ask me what I want. I answer that nothing in particular, simply ask if something happens, unless it is secret. Unlike other people on the continent, they answer me honestly: they have landed on that beach for “orders from Lugos the Bruised to fight the monsters in The Cave of Dreams“.
The word “monsters” echoes in my head. I ask you to let me in to speak with Lugos, he may be interested hire a professional. They don’t let me through, but nothing that a little Axia doesn’t solve: “lugos awaits me“. The Jedi movement… I mean, the Warlock Sign allows me to access the ship and sign up for the strange cave expedition.
I enter the Dream Cave with three brave warriors with spears. We came to a kind of well-illuminated stone totem. We’re being attacked by a group of Nekkers, nothing I can’t control at this point. The warriors do what they can with their spears.
We use some herbs for “to reach the world of nightmares. That says the legend and that we will do
The first nightmare belongs to one of the warriors, Uve. Faces a ghostly jarl who insults and makes fun of him. She calls him “the talker.” It ends with a scuffle between the jarl’s ghostly soldiers and our group. His sword blows feel too real for a hallucination.
Uve’s nightmare settled, we continue. We see flying fish like the whale from before. A little further on we find another stone totem with mermaids (the ones from The Witcher 3, not the ones from Disney) ghostly. It is the nightmare of another warrior who lost his father to the sensual songs of mythical creatures. He goes without saying that the matter is resolved with steel.
A stone wall is cleared and we continue the path through the cave. the next nightmare pits a warrior against his father, who comes across as a big, beefy name on fire. He is afraid of disappointing his late father. Once again, the matter is resolved with sword blows, spear blows and hammer blows. Only a nightmare remains… What horror can fear someone who kills horrors?
Geralt of Rivia’s nightmare soon appears: two hounds from the Wild Hunt and the very Eredin Bréacc Glas, king of the hunt and responsible for Ciri having to run away. Upon defeating him, a voice from beyond the grave sounds:
- sooner or later it will be mine – says Eredin, obviously referring to Ciri.
- Over my dead body – answers Geralt of Rivia.
- that will be easy – Eredin sentences while causing Geralt an unbearable headache.
When I open my eyes, the three soldiers look at me lying on the ground. I get up quickly. They are waiting for me pay me for my services and to leave the cave together. “It has been an honor to fight by your side. Goodbye Geralt“, one of the warriors says goodbye. I rush out of the cave to resume my path. The mind does not deceive: my biggest fear is losing Ciri… and this time we’re not just talking about Geralt of Rivia.
