Henry Cavill has already wielded the sorcerer’s silver blade. The 41-year-old actor will soon draw the blade of the immortal Highlander and the Chainsword of the Space Marines. Now it looks like as if the former Superman also wanted a lightsaber.
According to a new rumor Henry Cavill is actually said to be negotiating for a role in the Star Wars universe. Specifically, this is about the new film trilogy by Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Star Wars Rebels), which was revealed just a few days ago.
At least that’s what the established insider claims MyTimeToShineHellowho is considered to be quite well informed and reliable. For example, he also correctly predicted Henry Cavill’s cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine.
It wouldn’t be far from Star Wars to Marvel
Of course, please note: This is an unconfirmed rumor! Furthermore, there is currently only talk of Cavill negotiating for a possible role – so he hasn’t been cast yet. It will probably be a while before we find out whether this is actually true: the trilogy is currently in an early stage of development.
It would be obvious that Henry Cavill could become a part of Star Wars: Under Disney, the former Superman and Witcher actor already worked with Marvel – so the path to Lucasfilm wouldn’t be too far.
So there is at the moment a whole range of actors who appear in both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Star Wars universe – such as Ben Mendelsohn, Emilia Clarke, Paul Bettany, Ariana Greenblatt, Jon Favreau, Richard E. Grant, Donald Glover, Forest Whitaker, Benicio del Toro, Mads Mikkelsen, Stellan Skarsgard or of course Andy Serkis.
