If you like No Man’s Sky, you know that something big is brewing. Its creator is currently having fun with the community. What do we know at the moment?
Sean Murray, the founder of Hello Games and iconic face of No Man’s Sky, recently sent the gaming community into a frenzy with a series of mysterious social media posts. These messages, which consisted mostly of earth emojis, sparked a great deal of excitement among fans, although some still remember the turbulent hype that surrounded No Man’s Sky’s initial release.
No Man’s Sky or another game
It all started on July 13th when Sean Murray posted an Earth emoji on his X account (formerly Twitter). This simple gesture immediately sparked hundreds of comments, with fans speculating about a possible connection to No Man’s Sky’s ninth anniversary. The next day, he hit the nail on the head by reposting his original message with three additional Earth emojis, generating an even bigger wave of reactions and anticipation.
Speculation quickly gained momentum. Some fans wondered if this series of posts could announce a new update for No Man’s Sky. Or a link to Hello Games’ next game in development, titled Light No Fire. The discussion was particularly fueled by the theory that this new title could be linked to a new expedition in NMS.
Murray continued to fuel the mystery by reposting his initial posts over and over again, alternating between a single Earth emoji and three emojis. Then, on July 15, a new development occurred when another cryptic emoji appeared. Often associated with major announcements in the past, for the most keen observers, this is reminiscent of a similar occurrence in 2017, when he used the same emoji on the day of the announcement of the Atlas Rises update for NMS.
At this point, all hypotheses are allowed. Sean Murray’s enigmatic behavior has the community on tenterhooks. Fans are eagerly awaiting the explanation. I hope this series of cryptic messages will lead to a meaningful announcement. Whether it’s a new adventure in No Man’s Sky or details about Light No Fire.
