You can’t get Vessel of Hatred in the Game Pass, but you still get a discount.
There’s a lot going on in Game Pass at the moment, and the consequences of Activision Blizzard’s major takeover by Microsoft are becoming more noticeable with each passing month. For example, the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available in Game Pass from day one – and since March 2024 you’ll also be able to play Diablo 4 in full with a subscription on PC and Xbox.
The question naturally arises: does this also apply to the add-on? The big DLC Vessel of Hatred will finally be released on October 8, 2024 and will be Blizzard’s first big gong in the fall business, before CoD follows suit at the end of October.
Unfortunately, we cannot give you any positive news here: Vessel of Hatred will not appear in Microsoft’s Game PassSelling DLCs separately is one of the most important monetization strategies in the Game Pass model. But subscribers still get a small bonus.
What does the Game Pass offer for Vessel of Hatred?
Since July 2024, the Game Pass subscription has been available in different versions, each costing different amounts.
- Xbox Game Pass Core for 7 dollars a month gives you the smallest pool of available games.
- The PC Game Pass focuses only on the PC library for 12 dollars per month.
- Xbox Game Pass Standard For 13 dollars a month you get access to hundreds of games.
- But nur im Game Pass Ultimate for 18 dollars a month you get a special discount for Vessel of Hatred .
With this special discount you save 16 dollars if you buy the so-called expansion pack of Diablo 4 – this includes the base game and the DLC for a total of 80 dollars. With the discount you therefore pay only
64 Euro and then own both forever. However, this deal is only worth it if you plan to cancel your Game Pass soon.
The DLC alone costs 40 dollars – so the subscription is cheaper if you only buy the DLC separately. If you own Game Pass Ultimate, you save 4 dollars and pay only
36 dollars for the extension. Conversely, you will of course lose access as soon as you cancel your subscription.
At the beginning of October, Season 6 of Diablo 4 will start at the same time as Vessel of Hatred. This will of course also affect the main game, and you will get all the balance changes and the new Battle Pass even if you don’t own the DLC.
