Microsoft is gradually retiring old versions of Windows 10. Now it’s version 21H2. How to find out if you are affected and what you can do.
With the December patch day, the end of support for a widespread system version of Windows 10 has come. Microsoft will no longer release updates for system version 21H1 from the first half of 2021.
In principle, the Redmond company offers private users 18 months of support for each system version after publication. This period has now expired and an update to the current version 22H2 is recommended. You can easily do this via the Windows Update Center.
If you want to be on the safe side, we will show you here how you can safely install a Windows 10 update. This only applies to private versions – Enterprise or Education versions, however, should be updated by the responsible administrator.
Alternatively, you can also switch directly to Windows 11. We tell you everything you need to know in the linked overview article.
