Microsoft recently announced that Windows 10 may experience Internet connection issues. Connections through a VPN or proxy server are affected. Interruptions may occur when changing the connection type.
The bug was caused by the February update KB4535996 and affects all versions of Windows 10 since 1709. The new update will be downloaded on April 1. Patches are optional updates.
