Windows 11 is like its predecessor Windows 10 also, equipped with a central menu for security settings. Well works Microsoft apparently on a new security hub. A pre-release version of the Microsoft Defender now offers first insights.
As WindowsLatest reports, the new security tool has appeared in the Insider Program. Apparently, it does not displace the current safety hub, but builds up next to it. The description refers to personalized security for the user and the family.
New security hub for home networks?
Windows 11 already includes functions via which the usage time of other devices can be displayed. A cross-device security solution is at least conceivable. Another note can be found in the program resources.
As WindowsLatest further reports, there are icons for Android devices, iPhones and Macs. The new hub therefore focuses on the security of various devices that do not necessarily use Windows 11. Network functions are therefore very likely.
At this point in time, it is pure speculation whether the security function goes beyond this, for example via networking via an app on non-system devices. As before with the Android subsystem, the Microsoft Defender in the store was created primarily for developers. It is not yet known when a functional version will appear.
