The screenshot tool Snipping Tool recently caused a stir in Windows 11 and Windows 10. Because important information could not be reliably and safely hidden. Microsoft has now released an update that is intended to close the security gap.
The update affects the bug that made headlines as the “Acropalypse bug”. Roughly simplified, this vulnerability ensures that if you try to make sensitive data unrecognizable in a screenshot, the supposedly hidden information is also saved when you save it.
With the necessary know-how, the information can then be restored. How Bleeping Computer however, Microsoft has now reportedly responded. An update for the Snip & Sketch tool is now available for installation on both Windows 11 and Windows 10.
