Windows 11 hasn’t even been on the market for two years and there are already rumors and speculations about the next version: Windows 12. The latest leak could be the strongest indication of the existence of the operating system so far.
Another suggests that Windows 12 could be released as early as next year. what’s up
Windows 12 already in 2024 and w ith a subscription?
Der Hardware-Leaker @leaf_hobbywho has often been right with Intel predictions in the past, shared details about the upcoming Meteor Lake generation of Intel processors via his Twitter feed.
According to the leaker, Intel mentions that their upcoming CPUs will be supported by Windows 12. The tweet has since been deleted, suggesting the rumor could be true. Both Microsoft and Intel wanted to face The Verge leave no comment.
Another leak comes from Windows Central’s Zac Bowden. He assumes that Microsoft will become one three-year release cycle will change – starting from Windows 11.
If he is correct, the next version of Windows could appear as early as October 2024. Bowden probably already knows what the next Windows version will be called: »Next Valley«.
Unconfirmed sources assume that Windows 12 a Cloud-based operating system could be. Again, if this turns out to be true – which could well be plausible – Windows 12 will indeed become a subscription service, like Microsoft 365 and Game Pass.
A cloud-based operating system can certainly offer advantages, but it is questionable whether the market will be ready for it next year, especially if there is no locally installable alternative.
Just recently, a tweet about Windows 12 meant as a joke even got Microsoft boss Satya Nadella on the scene. You can read more about it here:
