What’s happening in Escape from Tarkov right now? Developer Battlestate Games announced that the upcoming update 0.12.11 will bring a “wipe” with it. So all player progress will be reset. This is traditionally an exciting time in Tarkov, as there is extensive equality of opportunity when all players are tied again. But that’s not unusual yet.

Unusual events
Escape from Tarkov is apparently preparing something special. There seems to be some kind of event going on in the ruthless world of the hardcore shooter. In the game were all secure containers deactivated. Players can no longer secure items when they go into a raid.
At times the bosses, who are otherwise tied to specific maps, were suddenly on all maps. As a result, players sometimes blessed the temporal even faster. In addition, the Map Labs, a particularly difficult raid with limited access, suddenly opened to all players. Pure chaos!
There is also a mess with traders because players have the opportunity to generate tons of money. That left the In-game economy collapse. In line with this, Battlestate Games published various notices on Twitter in the form of fictional letters and mysterious forum users. One picture shows an “unidentified user” who writes:
“Something is happening in Tarkov, the traders have decided to sell all their goods at low prices in order to get rid of them as soon as possible. Something serious is afoot …”

The letter mentioned is an order to UN troops in Tarkov, which are part of the UNTAR mission. They say that all mercenaries will be on June 30th »Point Zero« should withdraw. This statement suggests that the wipe could take place on Wednesday. Mercenaries who disregard the ceasefire are to be regarded as hostile according to orders and must be fought.

The events are reminiscent of Live-Service-Elementeas they are practiced in shooters like Fortnite, Call of Duty or Battlefield. Changes to the game world and dynamic story elements often keep games interesting for years.
What does update 0.12.11 bring?
The contents of patch 0.12.11 are hotly debated. Probably it is Expansion of the Map Factory and the new Scav Boss Tagilla contain. This means that the revised map could finally have its own boss opponent.

The long-awaited map Streets of Tarkov is still a long time coming. As Nikita Buyanov explained in our last interview on Escape from Tarkov, the huge city map is still planned for 2021, but should most likely be linked to Update 0.13. We therefore expect a release of Streets of Tarkov towards the end of 2021.
