The author of The Witcher series ended his dispute with game developer and publisher CD Projekt.
CD Projekt gains full rights That wizard A series of games created by creator Andrzej Sapkowski, and then created the first game with the same name.
At that time, Sapkowski signed the transaction but charged a fee but did not charge royalties. He later revealed in an interview with Eurogamer that he had no confidence in the game's success at the time and felt that he owed a lot more money than he had originally sold.
One year later, Sapkowski will formally require CD Projekt to pay approximately $ 16 million as compensation for royalties. The developer refused to pay the sum, but did not appear to have opened the door for renegotiation. Now it seems that both sides are happy.
In December last year, the two sides reached a new agreement in which the press release stated that "the needs and expectations of both parties are met and fully articulated."
Although no financial details were disclosed, this new transaction reaffirms CD Projekt's rights to the Witcher series in video games, graphic novels, board games and merchandise.
