Undoubtedly, the studio behind this license is far from done with its most popular title. With a number of remakes announced at E3 2015, fans of the game are more excited than ever. However, while waiting for the final final episode planned for this JRPG, they can wait by playing the excellent software released on PS5, one of which is accessible for free on PS+!
Final Fantasy 7 hasn’t finished talking about him yet. During E3 2015, Square Enix announced its plans for a trilogy of remakes of the software. So in 2020 the first chapter was released: FF7 Remake on PS4, then the following year on PC (via Epic Games). FF7 Remake Intergrade (2021) has arrived on PS5 and is the improved version. Square Enix has largely satisfied its audience with Intergrade: the improvements are notable if we compare the game on PS5 with the remake on PS4. Gamers will benefit from the 60 fps enabled by the machine’s Performance mode, 4K image quality, and reworked textures. That’s not all: new mechanics appear. For example, attacks that cannot be dodged are now marked red during combat. Beyond these changes that expand the FF7 Remake, Intergrade players are entitled to a new episode called Intermission. In this game you play as Yuffie Kisaragi. Your goal is to recover a materia from the Shinra corporation.
The fans are on cloud nine
Just three years after Intergrade, players were presented with the second chapter of the remake trilogy: FF7 Rebirth (February 2024). The software is rated 19/20 with usand receives the “Excellent” award. Press reviews of 92/100 and public reviews of 9/10 on Metacritic. Rebirth continues the events initiated in the FF7 Remake Intergrade episode Intermission and presents multiverse problems. The protagonists, including Cloud, who you control, are in search of their greatest enemy: Sephiroth.
On the official FF7 website, the studio informs players that they will then be able to receive the PS4 remake Free PS5 expansion update download. However, the Intermission DLC remains separate, you must purchase it to play it. Now fans just have to wait for the final part of the remake trilogy, a date has not yet been announced but the director already claims that it will be “one of the most popular games in history.”
