The Tekken World Tour Finals are approaching, and the best Tekken 8 players will compete in Tokyo for glory, money, and bragging rights. While there will be some great Tekken coming out, one thing that won't be there is a trailer for a new character. Instead, that will be revealed later this year, leading many gamers to look to Geoff Keighley for some hope on the Game Awards stage.
For some context, the first season of Tekken 8 post-launch content has four DLC character slots. We've already seen three of them, but there's still one left, still set to be revealed in winter 2024. The hope is that this will be a special addition, as reaching the standards Heihachi set earlier this year will be difficult to achieve.

Hopes for a Tekken 8 trailer to appear at The Game Awards stem from an official announcement from Bandai Namco released today. The full statement reads: “Our team is currently working on an announcement for release later this winter to ensure we can fully meet everyone's expectations.”
Okay, so you have to ask yourself what time Bandai Namco and the Tekken 8 team will be waiting for in December. Historically, Tekken 8 (as well as Tekken 7) has had trailers shown at events. Of course, these are typical fighting game events like Evo or Combo Breaker, but the important thing is that the company tends to take to the stage to showcase this kind of content. Tekken characters don't usually disappear suddenly.

With this in mind, you must check your calendar and learn about upcoming events. There's…well, not much. It’s December! The only thing you can really look forward to is the Game Awards in sunny Los Angeles. While this isn't a confirmation by any means, Tekken fans have their eyes on Geoff Keighley and his team in hopes that a trailer will show up at TGA.
Regardless, Keighley has been tight-lipped about revealing the truth. Of course, who wants to see their Christmas gift early? We'll find out on December 12, when The Game Awards kick off, where we'll see all of the year's winners along with plenty of new game trailers. Tekken 8 has a great chance of winning this year! So Tekken 8 fans are likely to have a great night. Unless MultiVersus wins best fighting game. If this happens, everyone will be angry.
