While we wait for a fifth entry that still seems a long way off, Fallout 4 is full of free content to try out. What interests us here is particularly intriguing.
When it was released, Fallout 4 stood out from other parts of the post-apocalyptic series by the great emphasis it placed on colony building. This mechanic inherent to the game was then reinforced through DLCs and then mods. This is precisely the point we are interested in here in creating a fan that also has the advantage of providing a remarkable variety in the atmosphere.
Follow the light in this fascinating mod for Fallout 4
Overall, Fallout 4 somewhat upset fans as it offered a rather watered down take on the grime atmosphere of the now legendary first games, with New Vegas being the “recent” effort that comes closest to that. The F ar Harbor DLC was a nice attempt at a more oppressive atmosphere, however. With the mod Boon Island
Located between Boston and Far Harbor, this island is inspired by a place that actually existed and had a tragic past. To get there, our character will necessarily have to take a boat designed for the occasion, on which there is a dilapidated lighthouse. There we will meet an old lady waiting for her son. Like the story of the island from which it is inspired, Boon Island will therefore offer an adventure with a particularly grim narrative, which has the merit of being entirely dubbed. But it will also be possible to create a thriving colony there.
This would be the first chapter of a larger project for Fallout 4 that modders call “The Isles of New England.” Therefore, the future will be about visiting other islands inspired by historical places. In any case, this is an interesting series to follow while waiting for a certain Fallout 5, among other equally promising mods, such as the remake of the legendary second opus. We are also thinking of London, an unofficial expansion that offers us, in a very original way, the opportunity to leave the traditional United States to see if mushrooms are more radioactive on the Old Continent.
