While there are still a few weeks to go before Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty releases on March 3rd, that doesn’t stop the developers from divulging a whole chunk of primarily technical information.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is on the home stretch towards its release. Koei Tecmo has now revealed a whole mountain of information before you can enjoy another demo on February 24th.
Let’s start with the system requirements of the PC version. Minimum requirements include an Intel Core i5-8400, AMD Ryzen 5 3400G or higher with 8GB RAM. For the GPUs, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 (4 GB) AMD Radeon RX 570 (4 GB) or higher is recommended. This means that at least 720p resolution and 30 frames per second are possible.
Recommended requirements include a Core i7-8700, a Ryzen 3600 XT or higher with 16GB RAM and a GeForce RTX 2060 (6GB), Radeon RX 5700 XT (8GB) or higher, which should be fine for 1080p60 at default settings . If you want full 4K enjoyment, you should have at least one RTX 3080 in your computer to achieve 60 fps.
Steam Deck will not receive any support and upscaling features such as DLSS or Intel XESS will only be provided via update after the launch. VRR is supported on PC but not on consoles, and the PC version has an FPS max of 120 fps.
Koei Tecmo has also released information about the graphics modes of the consoles. A resolution and performance mode are planned for both PS5 and Xbox Series X. Both aim for 4K resolution, with the frame rate taking precedence in performance mode and aiming for 60 fps. The same applies to Xbox Series S, but the limit there is 1440p resolution. PS4 Pro and Xbox One X are trimmed to 4K30, the regular PS4 aims for 1080p30, as does the Xbox One.
PS4 to PS5 upgrades are free, Xbox uses Smart Delivery so it doesn’t matter which version you buy. The saves are also compatible within the console family, so you can easily use your PS4 saves on the PS5. But nothing works between Playstation and Xbox.
With regard to multiplayer, the information was later submitted that you can gamble together within the console family, i.e. PS4 with PS5 and Xbox One with Xbox Series. Again, nothing goes between Playstation and Xbox or even PC – too bad. After all, you can gamble cooperatively with up to two other players, and it should also be possible to attack other players. However, the option for invasions can be disabled.
