Wolfen recently broke out of Early Access and succeeded on Steam, climbing all the way.
But success brings problems. Since the release of Wolfen, players have been reporting errors, data loss, and complete inability to connect to the game. Developers are aware of these issues and are working to resolve them.
However, for this to work, they need to take some additional steps. First, they cannot apply the patch when the problem pops up, as this creates more problems and results in lost progress. Second, they need to limit the number of servers, which can only accommodate so many players at a time.
This is the announcement:
"We know that your current connection issues and errors are frustrating and prevent you from fully enjoying the game, and we want to assure you that we are doing our best to resolve all of these issues as quickly as possible.
"However, following the data loss situation last Friday, we now know that we cannot continue to apply patches and patches as before. We must coordinate with our partners to monitor the situation and ensure that we do not experience any major database issues .
"Because many players are more likely to have this kind of problem when they try to join the server at once, we have to take two temporary measures:
– Currently, server capacity is limited to a certain number of parallel players.
– We can only implement one patch per week and we need to coordinate with our partners to promote it.
"The situation will improve and we are currently upgrading the server infrastructure. The next patch will bring some enhancements that will allow us to increase the limits of concurrent players, and if improvements are found, we will continue to increase it.
Check the link above for detailed patch instructions. This patch fixes some issues related to missing characters, saved characters, duplicate items, etc. The fix will now be applied at any time.
There is no mention of a fix for the dark market crash in the patch notes, so it's best to avoid this if you are able to successfully enter the final game.
