world of warcraft The latest content update for Dragonflight is now live, taking you to Arathi Highlands for a limited-time pirate-themed battle royale event called Plunderstorm.
With the release of the 10.2.6 content update, you can join the Plunderstorm event and enjoy the glorious 60-player PvPvE fun of being a pirate over the coming weeks. Your goal is to scour the map and try to become the last pirate standing while finding the abilities, upgrades, and loot you need to survive.
As you find treasure chests and defeat enemies, you can discover lootable spells, abilities, and upgrades. Once picked up, spells and abilities are automatically added to your action bar, with two slots dedicated to offensive skills and two slots for utilities like jumping, speed boosts, and crowd control.
Your spells and abilities can be upgraded by discovering higher quality versions from treasure chests or by finding the same abilities elsewhere and stacking them up to level 3. There are treasure chests of various rarities hidden on the map, which contain various types of abilities.
The Plunder Storm event also includes cosmetics, pets, titles, and mounts that you’ll earn as you progress through the rewards track, including the majestic Plunder Lord Parrot mount, crab pet bubble, swashbuckling cosmetics, and more.

Here is information about the event:
- Fight (or dodge) opponents and search the map for abilities to upgrade during the match
- In the tradition of the battle royale experience, the last person standing on the shrinking map will be declared the winner, but everyone who participates will progress on the bonus track.
- Abilities stack up to level 3 (Epic); in addition, you can find Epic abilities in high-value rare NPC encounters and treasure chests.
- The user interface and functionality are unique to this experience
The Plunder Storm event is open to all World of Warcraft players. Whether through requesting game time or an active subscription, any active World of Warcraft player can play the game, including World of Warcraft Classic players.
- Non-Dragonflight players will need to download and install the modern game client; however, there is no need to purchase the latest expansion pack, as Pillage Storm can be accessed via a specific toggle on the character select screen.
- Single-player and two-player modes will be available; players can add friends from the Battle.net friends list on the Plunderstorm character screen.
- Battle.net account progress
- Players will work their way through Keg Leg Crew’s famous circuits to reach level 40, and can progress on any account belonging to a single Battle.net account.
- Rewards for Modern and World of Warcraft Classic players
- As part of the event, both groups of players will be able to obtain new parrot mounts and pets.
- Modern World of Warcraft players will have access to additional transmog rewards.
- The Season 4 PTR starts this week.
Blizzard says content update 10.2.6 works differently than previous updates, meaning the Season 4 update will enter public testing this week and be released in a few weeks.
