World of WarCraft with a difference! Blizzard Entertainment is releasing the latest content update version 10.2.6 for the MMORPG and is launching a battle royale event with Plunderstorm.
Blizzard takes up the popular battle royale genre in the long-running MMORPG World of WarCraft. The new content update of version 10.2.6 brings with it a fresh in-game event, Plunderstorm, in which you have to assert yourself against other gamers in the best battle royale style.
Each Plunderstorm match is intended to send 60 players into the race, who then fight each other for 10 to 15 minutes to emerge victorious. The winner is the player who is the last survivor left on a shrinking map. Those who leave beforehand at least make progress on certain reward paths.
In a match you can search the map located in the Arathi Highlands for abilities and upgrade them to rank 3 (epic). Epic abilities can also be discovered during rare NPC encounters and in treasure chests. The user interface has been adapted for this new game mode, as have the skills themselves.
All WoW players who have an active subscription or used playing time are allowed to take part in Plunderstorm. It is not necessary that you own the current add-on World of WarCraft: Dragonflight. Even WoW Classic players are cordially invited to the Battle Royale mode and can play along. Only the latest game client needs to be installed on your hard drive.
If you want to get started, you can choose between a solo and a duo mode. If you want to play with a buddy, you can add someone from your Battle.net friends list on the Plunderstorm character screen. For groups, a new parrot mount and pet can be unlocked as part of the event. Anyone who plays modern WoW can also earn additional transmog rewards.
You can find out more information about Plunderstorm in the latest WoWCast episode or on the official one Blog.
