Team17 announced that the developer Black Matter’s World War II shooting game Hell Let Loose will be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in October. Accompanying the announcement is a new trailer dedicated to the console port.

The trailer doesn’t really describe the game’s features in detail. On the contrary, it establishes the tone of the game as a gritty, realistic shooting game, without letting players know how hell the battlefield is. The combination of music, organ and electric guitar improvisation further deepens the theme of hell.

On the surface, the gameplay of Hell Let Loose is different from other war shooting games. It allows you to directly control a squad, and at the same time coordinate with other squads in 50 vs. 50 battles and divide them into squads. Each unit has a commander, and the class has a squad leader. This adds a layer of strategy that is not available in many shooting games on the market, and makes the genre of World War II shooting games a whole new look. This does not even take into account occupations, supply chains, and fortifications, all of which add to the strategy of each game.

Black Matter successfully launched Kickstarter in 2017 before being acquired by publisher Team17. It was launched in Early Access in 2019, and it was finally fully launched this year and received positive reviews. It currently has very positive reviews on Steam, so it seems to have found an audience. Hope it can also find one on the console.

Hell Let Loose has now landed on PC, and will land on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on October 5.
