World war z just welcomed your Game of the Year Edition or GOTY in PC, PS4 and Xbox One platforms. Accompanying this release we find the introduction of a new game location: the French city of Marseille, which will be available both in the GOTY version of the game and in the Season Pass. Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive have allowed us to immerse ourselves in the streets of this city in its brutal and new trailer:
World war z: GOTY and Marseille edition
"Marseille is a unique environment and probably the most diverse location we've created so far"expresses Dmitry Grigorenko, designer of Saber Interactive, in the official blog from PlayStation. "It is located on the French Riviera and despite this little zombie apocalypse it is a beautiful place. There are many areas of the city that we have been inspired by, and we have added several different locations. For example, areas like catacombs or large open rural areas are played completely differently from each other"
In this sense, Grigorenko details that each level has a different theme: "A level is completely dedicated to the defense of Fort Saint-Nicolas. In most of our levels, players advance through hordes, defeating zombies or escaping waves. However, at this level the players will again be dragged back into this fort. So it's about staying strong and resisting"
The Game of the Year Edition
On the other hand, the GOTY Edition presents various premium weapon packs and character designs. In addition, players who opt for this purchase option will receive a full year of free content added to World war z since its launch– Including Horde Z Mode, cross-play between Xbox One and PC, additional missions and PvE enemies, as well as weekly challenges, a higher difficulty mode and more.
On the other hand, Saber Interactive anticipates that they are preparing the introduction of a new playable class, with unique skills, that will be available as a free update later this year. The GOTY Edition is expected to debut on the Nintendo Switch as well.
