Some set photos from James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie have made the rounds, but the director says there’s no need to worry about spoilers.
If you’re excited for the upcoming DCU updates, then you may have seen some of the set photos of David Corenswet as Superman, which gave everyone a better idea of what his costume will look like. Not a whole lot is shown in the photos, but they confirm that his cape will also have the yellow Superman logo, a feature that has been absent from almost all of the live-action films to date, despite being a must-have element. The photos also show Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and one video even shows him holding what looks like dog food, which has led some to speculate that Krypto the Superdog will make an appearance (although this could just be to confuse everyone and keep them from knowing what’s going on).

These days, it’s rare for major superhero movies to be shot on location, even partially (as Marvel does), so naturally, this has led some to wonder if the set photos might lead to some kind of major spoiler. When a fan asked Gunn what he thought about the set leaks, the director simply responded, “Totally expected.”

When another fan seemingly jokingly asked if the film was “irrevocably spoiled because of a leak on the set,” Gunn again bluntly stated, “Not at all. I would never film a big spoiler downtown.” So, there you have it: no, Corensweets walking around in a Superman suit is not a spoiler, and you can put down your torches and pitchforks now.
While Gunn’s Man of Steel isn’t due out until a year from now, Zack Snyder has seemingly hinted that his cut of Justice League will be released in theaters for the first time, so at least there’ll be some content to tide you over while you wait.
