Wow, Helldiver 2’s democratic space station is finally up and running, and in the words of one bemused Super-Earth stan: “OMG, this is so democratic”

bemused, Democratic, finally, Helldiver, OMG, running, Space, Stan, Station, SuperEarth, Words, WoW

This isn’t a drill, Helldiver 2’s democratic space station saga is over. Yes, the important tech is finally built, fueled, staffed, etc., so you can start getting to grips with it in the final stages of the latest major order.

It’s a good thing, too, because some players are starting to get a little frustrated with how long it takes to activate new toys they’ve been working on adding to their Galactic War arsenal for quite some time. Congratulations, it turns out that the final stages of the surgery actually went as hoped.

Early this morning – seemingly just as divers managed to kill the 500 million bugs needed to procure some sweet E-710 fuel for the space station – Arrowhead activated it, giving everyone their first chance to taste what it has to offer thing.

Early reviews have been generally pretty positive, in part because the in-game description of the finished DSS seems to shamelessly reference that infamous video of that Australian guy (RIP Jack Carlson) being upset because he Won’t finish his juicy Chinese meal. You know, because the space station is “the embodiment of democracy.”

From a practical standpoint, the station allows players to donate samples and requisitions to help the cause of galactic warfare by activating options like Current Orbital Blockade and Eagle Storm, which will allow Eagles to strike during missions while slowing enemy defense progress. Additionally, it can be moved to different locations in the galaxy based on player votes.

“This is so democratic, oh my god,” wrote one beloved diver, while others boasted that they had reached their first cap on sample donations before the cooldown period began.

So while the lack of a social hub area may seem a bit disappointing to some, the lifespan of DSS is pretty good. Are you planning on returning to Helldivers 2 to see the station up and running now? Let us know below!
