Microsoft It has been confirmed that Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on PC and iOS.
Starting on July 28, Xbox Cloud Gaming has provided Windows 10 PCs and iOS phones and tablets to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members in 22 countries/regions through the browser.
Even better, the platform holder announced that Xbox Cloud Gaming is now supported by custom Xbox Series X hardware.
“We have been upgrading Microsoft’s global data centers with the fastest and most powerful Xbox hardware to provide you with faster loading times, higher frame rates, and a new generation of gaming experience,” Catherine Gluckstein, vice president and product director Xbox Cloud Gaming explained through a press release.
“To ensure the lowest latency and highest quality experience on the widest set of devices, we will stream at 1080p and up to 60fps. Looking ahead, we will continue to innovate and add more features to enhance your cloud Game experience.”
This follows Microsoft’s introduction of touch controls for more than 50 Xbox Game Pass games earlier this year. Bringing more ways to play to players is part of the company’s current mission statement, and the plan is clearly working.
“Today, about one-sixth of players who play games from the cloud use custom touch controls enabled for more than 50 games — my personal favorite is Minecraft Dungeons,” Gluckerstein said.
“Of course, you can also use a compatible Xbox wireless controller or one of the many supported controllers and mobile gaming accessories (including the new Backbone One for iOS) to play games from the cloud.”
