Xbox didn’t make much of a splash at The Game Awards, so the company’s marketing executive addressed some fans’ concerns to calm their nerves.
Much of what’s shown at The Game Awards isn’t aimed at the Xbox audience. Sure, there are some cross-platform games, but with big names like Final Fantasy 16 and Death Stranding 2 coming to PS5, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon and Fire Emblem: Engage coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox is a bit of an oddity.
So, as VGC spotted, Xbox marketing chief Aaron Greenberg took to Twitter to address some fans who were wondering where the big Xbox news was. “We have so many plans to showcase and share an incredibly exciting year in 2023,” Greenberg tweeted. “Grateful people eager to learn and see more. Timing is always key, but Rest assured, you don’t have to wait for our next step.”
Now that both consoles are two years into their lives, it’s arguable that the PS5 has a stronger hitter. Honestly, while God of War: Ragnarok and Horizon: Forbidden West are both out on PS4, there’s still not much to buy on PS5 specifically.
Xbox is getting some big exclusives next year, like Starfield and Redfall, so it’s not like there’s nothing out there. But it’s a good opportunity to remind everyone that while things are open, we’re still experiencing the effects of the pandemic, so we might be waiting for some AAA games.
Plus, there are tons of cool games on Game Pass! Why not give Signalis very much like Silent Hill, or the incredible Vampire Survivor?
We have so many plans to showcase and share what an incredibly exciting year 2023 is. Appreciate people eager to know and see more. Timing is always key, but don’t worry, you won’t have to wait long to see what we have next. 🙏🏻💚 https://t.co/d1dca2i2Nt
