Xbox Game Pass gets another surprise indie game

game, Indie, Pass, surprise, Xbox

coffee talka heartwarming visual novel with a huge fan base, has been added to Xbox Game Pass As a surprise addition today.

If you’re careful enough, you’ll notice that this game has graced the Xbox service before – it’s one of the games you subscribe for free in June 2020. It’s a similar game to the sublime VA11 Hall-A, if you’ve ever played it.

The game is sold on the background of the sci-fi version of Seattle’s “Late Night Cafe Game,” but it has a twist: the city is inhabited by orcs, humans, elves, and various other mythical creatures. The game incorporates the barista experience, making you both a coffee expert and a friendly ear for the human and non-human inhabitants of an alternate reality city.

Set against the aural background of lo-fi beats and filled with comfortable and pleasing dialogue, this game is designed to make you a silent observer of the lives of the many who pass in and out of your humble store.

Just make sure you’re brewing a good cup of coffee: the better the coffee, the better the customer’s mood and the more positive their conversations and general outlook on life will be.

Xbox Game Pass has a good history of adding games from nowhere: in recent months, we’ve seen the excellent Garden Story added to the service from nowhere, and also additions like Generation Zero, without notice. Earlier this year, we also saw the triple threat of Gorogoa, Olija, and The Pedestrian.

Also, as a bonus, if you get the achievement, you’ll be happy to know you can get a decent 1000G in about four hours (although we do recommend staying put and having a conversation, rather than just browsing it).

Coffee Talk is now available for download through Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
