This week, Microsoft released more information about the May program for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. The manufacturer also reserved a surprise for PC players since MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries landed without prior announcement.
Released last December on the Epic Games Store, MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries signed the return of this license born in 1989. It is the studio Piranha Games, at the origin of the free-to-play multiplayer MechWarrior Online, which s is responsible for the development of this new opus offering the player to survey the galaxy of the distant future (3015) to accomplish scripted missions and contracts generated randomly in order to grow his company of mercenaries. It is notably a question of managing the recruitment of pilots as well as the acquisition and repair of BattleMechs.
If the game is structured around a narrative campaign, it also offers the possibility of joining forces with three online friends to complete cooperative contracts. Note that the version Microsoft Store is currently not compatible with mods; we'll have to wait for an update later this year.
Let's take this opportunity to remind subscribers of the Xbox Game Pass PC that Halo 2 Anniversary (May 12), Final Fantasy IX (May 14), Minecraft: Dungeons (May 26) and Endless Legend ("soon") are approaching. In the departures radius, Imperator Rome, Rise of the Tomb Raider, The Banner Saga, West of Loathing and Wolfenstein II The New Colossus will leave on May 15. The current full catalog for the Xbox Game Pass is available here.
