Microsoft had announced in the past that numerous games of the Final Fantasy series will appear in the Xbox Game Pass in the future, but many of them are still missing. However, there is no reason for fans to worry.
As part of X019, Microsoft made a big announcement that numerous games from the long-standing and successful RPG series Final Fantasy will be available for the Xbox One (and thus also the Xbox Series X / S) via Xbox Game Pass. According to the announcement at the time, it should be ten games, but many of them are still missing. A cause for concern?
A Microsoft spokesman has now commented on the topic and confirmed that the missing Final Fantasy title should still be delivered. As a reminder: In November 2019, ten games in the series were announced for service, but so far only five of them have been made available via Xbox Game Pass: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer: Comrades.
The subscription service is still missing Final Fantasy X: HD Remastered, Final Fantasy X-2: HD Remastered, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
“As we announced at X019, we’re excited to bring the Final Fantasy franchise to gamers in Xbox Game Pass. We did that throughout 2020 and will continue into 2021 and beyond. We’re excited looking forward to being able to announce specific release dates for further Final Fantasy titles in the future, “said the Microsoft spokesman.
In short: the other games will follow as planned. The only question that remains unanswered is in what time this will actually happen. Either way: A long time will have passed since the announcement in November 2019, over a year ago.
