GeForce Now is great. It’s a game streaming service that actually works. It’s fantastic. Game Pass is great. It’s a game subscription service that offers a lot of selection, including many debut titles, many of which are playable on Nvidia’s streaming platform. What makes this league better, you ask? It all comes down to how you log in.
While the two services work perfectly together, allowing you to play your Game Pass games almost anywhere you have a good internet connection, there is a catch: you have to be logged into your Microsoft account to play the games. “What’s the big deal”, I’m sure many of you will be angry. “This guy didn’t even know he was born”, etc. OK, I know (sadly, this was over 40 years ago), and, yes, playing Game Pass games on a device without a keyboard connected is annoying. Ask anyone who has tried to enter their email address and password using their TV remote.

Geforce Now users who primarily use games from their Steam library won’t run into this issue, as the service allows you to automatically log in. Set it up once in the Geforce Now settings, and you’ll have a pretty seamless experience, even on your TV. Now this feature is coming to Xbox accounts.
Starting tomorrow (August 22nd), you’ll be able to log in once through your account settings, then avoid those annoying login boxes forever. Want to play Forza Horizon 5? Desperate to show off those high-end Hellblade 2 visuals? There’s almost nothing stopping you now… except a good internet connection, a GeForce Now membership, a Game Pass membership, a device that can use GeForce Now, maybe a controller that can play games, a router of some kind, ideally a cable to connect your device to the router, a monitor or TV (preferably a good 4K monitor), and some real free time to enjoy yourself. If you have all of these, you’re a lucky person.
In case you missed all the news, Game Pass is changing again, with some tiers no longer offering day one games. Announcements at Gamescom this week also indicated that a ton of new games are coming to Game Pass, some of which may also be released on GeForce Now.
