As part of the paid subscription to the Xbox Game Pass, participating players receive several new full versions every month, which can be played at no additional cost. In addition to the large first-party titles from Microsoft, there are often indie gems on offer, but every now and then also very well-known titles from third-party manufacturers. Such is now in the starting blocks.
As Microsoft confirmed in a press release, a collaboration with Rockstar Games will shortly bring the Western epic Red Dead Redemption 2 to the Xbox Game Pass for Console. On Xbox One, you will be able to play the Western sequel from May 7 at no additional cost as part of the Game Pass if you have not yet purchased the full version.
The open-world action game takes place in America in 1899. Arthur Morgan is on the run with the Van der Linde gang. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the country on the back of their neck, the troop is making its way through the harsh heartland of America – it's about survival. When the gang threatens to break up, Arthur soon has to choose between his own ideals and loyalty to the group.
The access of Red Dead Redemption 2 to the Game Pass has a downer, however: In return, Grand Theft Auto V, another extremely prominent title by Rockstar, leaves the offer.
