Sony presented yesterday with the announcement of the free games for PlayStation Plus Essential, Microsoft is following suit today: Here you can find out which two titles you can look forward to at Xbox Games with Gold in January 2023.
With PlayStation Plus Essential, Sony is bringing out the heavy artillery at the start of the new year and, with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order or Fallout 76, is delivering two top titles for subscribers to the online service. However, subscribers to Xbox Live Gold have long been used to the fact that smaller buns have recently been baked there – and this trend seems to continue in the new year for the time being.
While Xbox Game Pass is very popular and offers numerous top titles, Xbox Games with Gold players are presented with smaller games rather than AAA titles. January 2023 will be no exception. Specifically, you can expect the two games Iris Fall and Autonauts – and both of them should probably only mean something to very few gamers.
Aut onauts was released for all current consoles over the summer, after initially launching on PC in 2019. It’s a space colonization sim with lots of crafting and management features.
Iris Fall, on the other hand, is a puzzle game from Chinese developer Next Studios. The title was originally released in 2018 but failed to make a bigger name for itself. Anyone who has played the game, their opinion about it is mostly positive.
Both games are playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Iris Fall will be available from January 1st to January 31st, Autonauts from January 16th to January 31st. You’ll look in vain for more titles: In September, Microsoft is known to have stopped offering Xbox 360 titles as part of the format and cut them from four to two games per month.
