Anyone who owns an Xbox One can look forward to the fact that a useful new feature is slowly but surely moving in: console streaming is now at least available as a preview via the Insider program.

As Microsoft announced today in time for the start of the weekend, Xbox console streaming is now available as a preview version as part of the Xbox Insider program in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Numerous other markets are also supported; the preview version is also already being rolled out there.
What exactly is Xbox console streaming? With the new feature, you can stream your games installed on Xbox One including all Game Pass titles directly from your home console at home via stream to your Android smartphone or tablet. So you can also play all your top titles from the Xbox console on your mobile devices and, for example, dodge them once when the TV set is busy.
The expanded preview version of the feature should now help to test the new technology and gain more experience before it finally goes live. In the United States and Great Britain, game streaming has been tested in this form since October 2019. After further optimizations, local players can now also participate.
If you want to try the streaming feature, you need an Xbox Insider account, a smartphone or tablet with Android 6.0 or higher and Bluetooth 4.0, a Bluetooth-enabled Xbox One wireless controller, a Microsoft account with Xbox profile, a broadband Internet connection and ideally a controller holder for the smartphone (optional). The Xbox game streaming app must also be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
This app should help you with the installation on Xbox One and also checks whether your home network, the console and the controller are set correctly. A network test ensures that the Internet connection and all settings meet the following minimum requirements:
- NAT Type: Open or moderate
- Upload bandwidth: At least 4.75 Mbit / s, 9 Mbit / s preferred
- Network latency: Assuming 125 ms or less, 60 ms or less preferred
- Settings in the console: Set the energy saving mode to "Fast start-up"
