Gaming News Xbox players could be in for a nice surprise in early 2024!
2023 was a crucial year for Xbox, which Activision-Blizzard was finally able to get its hands on: there is no doubt that the next few years will be crucial and of course there is reason to be excited about Microsoft’s future announcements. In the meantime, a new show is causing excitement…
Xbox, a bright future?
This year was particularly important for video games: simply because it started with them the end of the shortage so that the new generation of consoles can finally get off to a good start.
For its part, the Xbox Series may be behind, but it has still placed strategic chess pieces. We can quote Transforming Xbox Live with Gold (subscription to Xbox Internet service) and Xbox Game Pass CoreSubsequently, all subscribers to the service will be linked to those of Game Pass, i.e. 11.7 million additional subscribers for a total of 36 million.
Then of course there is that the Activision-Blizzard acquisition has finally been confirmed, promising some industry change in the coming years. Of course, Microsoft is committed to releasing certain games on competing platforms for a decade, but the fact remains that the American giant has given itself a formidable weapon that, combined with its Game Pass, is enough to defeat its competitors. Suffice it to say that there is reason to look forward to Xbox’s next announcements, and we should have something new on this topic very soon.
A new Xbox Developer Connect in January?
We owe the rumor to Jessa Birdy, who works at Xbox and just revealed the facts about X through a post and an image: “Working on something special for Xbox”we can read alongside a photo showing her on a film set, a camera and a green background to support this.
Obviously, this very pronounced teaser seems to announce the imminent arrival of a new digital event from Microsoft: while many are waiting for a big Xbox Showcase, many eyes are turning to it instead a new Xbox Developer_Connect, a show that also features games from Microsoft/Bethesda (and therefore Activision-Blizzard?).
In January 2023 we already had a Developer_Connect in which several great productions such as Forza Motorsport, Hi-Fi Rush, The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom, Redfall and Minecraft Legends were placed. We would therefore not be surprised if a new Developer_Connect were released in January 2024:
