xScreen turns the Xbox Series S into a console that can really be used anywhere that there is a power supply. Seems to be well received because the Kickstarter goal was cracked within twenty minutes.
The Australian start-up UPspec Gaming has come up with a very special gadget for the Xbox Series S. The device named xScreen is basically a screen that attaches directly to the console. This makes gaming like a laptop possible and the console itself has completely new possibilities as a semi-mobile device. In principle, you can get started with it wherever there is a power connection.
The xScreen is an 11.6-inch IPS screen with built-in stereo speakers and corresponding controls for volume and brightness. The refresh rate is specified as 60 Hz. The dimensions of the screen fit the console exactly. According to the manufacturer, it should be possible to stow the console and screen in a bag for a 15-inch notebook. This opens up completely new possibilities for the console.
A separate power connection is not required for this. The xScreen is connected directly to the USB and HDMI port, so it gets the power via USB. The xScreen should go into production from December, so that the first deliveries should take place in January / February 2022. The Kickstarter Campaign achieved her goal in just twenty minutes. Via Kickstarter, an xScreen currently costs a backing contribution of at least 248 Australian dollars, i.e. just under 160 dollars.
