Microsoft recently made it clear that it will continue to bring new Xbox hardware onto the market in the future. A new leak suggests a new model of the Xbox Series X for the current year 2024.
Now that it is now clear that Microsoft will continue to bring new Xbox hardware onto the market, it is worth taking another look at the rumor mill. Last year, documents in the Microsoft-FTC legal dispute regarding the takeover of Activision Blizzard provided insights into the company’s further plans for hardware – and now the generally well-informed magazine Exputer is following up.
According to a new report from Extrude Microsoft will bring a new Xbox Series X model onto the market in 2024. Of course, we are still a long way from a new generation of consoles, but those interested are offered a new option within the current generation.
If the magazine is right with its report, which is based on viewed and previously confidential material about the new console, then a new variant of the more powerful Xbox Series X is on the h orizon, which is completely white and priced between the Xbox Series S and the previous Xbox Series X will position. The fact that the new variant will be cheaper than the previous Xbox Series X is ensured by a purely digital model of the console.
It goes on to say that this purely digital model of the console is expected to be released in June or July. The price will then be $50 to $100 less than the price of the regular Xbox Series X. In return you get 1 TB of internal storage space along with a few other smaller optimizations. The heat development is said to be optimized and the Nexus card has been upgraded.
An official announcement of the new console model from Microsoft is still pending. It would be conceivable that such a thing would only be presented as part of the confirmed big June showcase and then published shortly afterwards. We will of course keep you updated on further developments!
