The E3 in Los Angeles will not take place this year either, at least not in physical form. The game manufacturers have known this for a long time and are starting their own campaigns. Apparently Microsoft, too, who are already in the planning stage.
The COVID pandemic has thrown gaming events into disarray. For the third year in a row, E3 in Los Angeles will not be held in physical format and a digital replacement has not yet been confirmed.
However, this does not prevent the big publishers from setting up their own events, which has worked relatively well in the last two years. As industry insider Jeff Grubb claims, Microsoft is already planning a major Xbox event in June 2022, which is also confirmed by other sources.
This should apparently be an event in the style of the E3. Microsoft is already in talks with its partners to bring big titles to the show. It remains to be seen what exactly is in store for us, but there have also been extensive events on the subject of Xbox in the previous two years.
It is also certain that another Summer Game Fest will take place in June under the thumb of Geoff Keighley. Seems it won’t be too difficult to get by without the E3.
