Introduced last month, the FPS Boost feature aims to improve the backward compatibility of certain Xbox One games on Xbox Series X / S by doubling (or even quadrupling) the number of frames per second without any additional work from developers . Few titles are compatible at the moment, but the list will grow soon.
At a Podcast, Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb announced that Prey, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: Special Edition, Dishonored: Definitive Edition, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 FPS Boost on Xbox Series X | S will enjoy. At the moment no additional details or dates have been communicated. These titles are part of the Bethesda game suite that was included in the Xbox Game Pass catalog last week after the completion of the ZeniMax Media acquisition.
Among the titles that are already benefiting from the FPS Boost we find in particular Far Cry 4, New Super Lucky’s Tale, Sniper Elite 4, EA Sports UFC 4 and Watch Dogs 2. Microsoft has announced as a reminder that this technology will not be applied to that can set of games.
