They may not be the type of conferences that most players expect, but at Hot Chips 2020 to be held this summer, it will bring together three of the largest manufacturers in the industry to discuss the future of GPUs, and Gaming architectures. Nvidia, Intel and Microsoft will present their vision for the coming years and, in the case of the Redmond ones, they will be shared new architecture details for Xbox Series X
According to the official schedule of the Hot Chips 2020, on August 14 Nvidia will be the first of the three companies to present their ideas in a talk titled “NVIDIA’s Next Generation GPUs: Performance and Innovation for GPU Computing”, a look at the new Ampere architecture of the company. Later, Intel will do the same with its new Xe external GPUs and finally Microsoft will talk about the xbox series x architecture, presumably, revealing new details that we already know about.
As pointed out Kotaku, one of the key points of the Xbox Series X architecture that could be addressed in the Hot Chips 2020, could be machine leraning through DirectML, as part of DirectX. With this tool, Microsoft for improving the performance of its console to make NPCs much smarter, provide much more realistic animation, and greatly improve visual quality.
Xbox Series X will go on sale in late 2020, and it already has its own pre-order website at the Microsof Store.
