Good news, a special Xbox podcast aired last night, which provided an update on the console maker’s future plans. In just over 13 hours, it’s received roughly 2.3 times the number of comments it’s long, which is kind of funny to think about, if nothing else.
We did get some noteworthy information as part of the update, which featured a 23-minute or so pre-recorded discussion that I’m sure we’ve all been waiting for. There is news that four unnamed games (not StarCraft or Raiders of the Lost Ark) will be coming to different consoles, some of which will be hardware ready, and Diablo 4 will be coming to Game Pass, and Matt Booty also had some reassuring remarks.

All of this was done in 22 minutes and 54 seconds, which is a nice little watch clocking in at about 1,380 seconds if my math is correct. In the more than 13 hours since it aired, some 477,000 people have watched some or all of the broadcast.
Of course, given that there was so much buzz surrounding the video, and because of all these rumors and Xbox not doing much to stop them from spreading for about a week, a large group of people left comments on the video – as of this writing At the time, there were 3,259 comments, to be exact. In case you’re wondering, that’s about 2.36 times (more than twice) the number of seconds the video actually lasts.
Just over half a day. For context, Xbox podcaster Phil Spencer was active last October to discuss the impact of Activision Blizzard’s just-completed acquisition on Xbox, which has amassed 1,207 in the months since launch comments. To be clear, I’m only telling you this to highlight how many reviews this latest podcast (which of course received more hype and buildup) has attracted.
One comment simply read: “This could be an email!” As of this writing, it has about 1,600 likes, which is more than the number of seconds in the video. I’m not sure I completely agree with this sentiment, but it’s pretty interesting to compare the tone to the comments section of the Activision Podcast, where the top comment reads: “Phil Spencer is the best ever The best thing about Xbox.”
